Traffic Stop in Glendale Leads to Chase and Arrest for Drug Sales

On Thursday, December 10, 2020, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers with the Glendale Police Department’s Special Enforcement Detail initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for having tinted windows and no license plates in the area of Central Ave and Vine St. The vehicle sped up and made a series of turns onto various streets as it failed to yield to the officers. Eventually the vehicle came to a stop in the area of Brand Blvd and Lomita Ave where officers observed the driver, later identified as 36-year-old Miguel Huezo of Sun Valley, roll the vehicle’s windows down, throw a black object out of the vehicle and quickly attempt to exit the driver seat.

Officers contacted Huezo regarding the violations and Huezo said he was not trying to flee from them. When asked what he had thrown out the window, Huezo responded by telling officers “it” was not his. Huezo stated he was on probation and was found to have just under $2,000 in cash on his person. The black pouch he had thrown from the vehicle was found to contain a methamphetamine pipe along with two sandwich size plastic bags of methamphetamine. Huezo was arrested and booked for possession of methamphetamine for sale.
